DIVINE POWER (DP)

Spirit Of The Dove

What or who is the holy Spirit ?

Here are the various religious opinions of The Holy Spirit:

which seems correct...and why ?

  • The Holy Spirit is a God ?
  • The Holy Spirit is God's Presence in Consciousness/Spirit ?
  • The Holy Spirit is God manifested in a different form, eg Rules as God The Father, Came earth born as God The Son then returns as God The Holy Spirit ?

Go Back

if we check the story of creation, Gen 1: 2,3 pls note that the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the earth before (The Spirit of..) God commanded light to come forth.
We can see here one is commanding what the other is "thinking" ...its because they are coexistent. its as if he thought about it before commanding it to happen. thought/spirit always preceeds action

So if I am understanding this correctly Mr D are you in any way implying that God first existed in Spirit form as an energy prior to manifesting himself with a physical identity?

Hi Sophia,

Much Thanks for your perspective, which i believe to also be absolutely true. John 1:1-4 John inspirational perspective says...in the beginning "was" the "word" and the word not only was with God, but he declares that the word "was" God...then in verse 14 it says the word which was made flesh came and dwelled among us. A word is a spoken thought, and is invisible, thought/consciousness really means "Spirit". So if translated, we get in the beginning was the Spirit and the Spirit was of God....and the Spirit "was" God ....and the Spirit (GOD) gave Himself a body (Word became Flesh)...and then Christ was "taken" from that body (Only "begotten son") and came and "dwelled" among us (virgin birth)

It is my understanding that the Holy spirit is God's invisible active force. A powerful means of energy used to perform many tasks assigned by God.

Example

2 Peter 1:20, 21

"20  For you know this first, that no prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation. 21  For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit."

This scripture demonstrates how God  allowed his knowledge to be imparted to man by means of the holy spirit. God's active force moved men or inspired men to speak/write his thoughts.

I believe the first step into understanding what or who the Holy Spirit is, is to confirm what spirit means in itself,
Eg Bible says Abraham was troubled in his spirit simply meant that Abraham's "mind" was troubled,
In my opinion, the holy Spirit can only be God's thoughts/consciousness....which would then mean that God also has a body,,,thoughts anyone ?
